Smokey was Patricia's Mother's cat until she could no longer take care of him, then Patricia took him in. He died from brain cancer last year.

Freckles belonged to Patricia's Mother-in-law. When she moved several hundred miles away, Patricia took Freckles to live with them. Freckles died from cancer caused by yearly vaccinations.
